In the fashion world, nothing is more exciting than a new line of clothing. And for montrealbased apis serieswiggersventurebeat, that excitement has been palpable since its inception. This year, the brand’s debut at SXSW will only add to that energy.

“We’re so excited about our SXSW debut! We have been working on this project for almost two years and it’s finally coming to fruition,” says Claudia Pelletier, founder and designer of Apis Series. “It feels amazing to see all of our hard work pay off.”

The line features intricate and detailed wigs made out of natural hairpieces and fabrics. The pieces are meant to be unique and reflective of the wearer’s personality. Pelletier sees her line as an extension of herself and her artistry. “I am so passionate about my wigs and I want them to be seen as beautiful pieces of wearable art,” she says. “They can be dressed up or worn casually or dressed up, which is why I love designing them.”

Apis Series to Feature Comedians, Musicians, and Filmmakers

The montrealbased apis serieswiggersventurebeat will premiere at SXSW. The series is a collaboration between comedy duo System of a Down and filmmaker Byron Howard (The Lion King, Frozen). The eight-episode season follows the hijinks of three mismatched wiggers as they explore the neon-drenched streets of downtown Los Angeles. System of a Down’s Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian will portray the wigging brothers, while Howard directs. Other cast members include comedians Hannibal Buress, Demetri Martin, and Reggie Watts.

Wiggersventurebeat to Offer Free Sessions for First Time

Wiggersventurebeat, a Montreal-based series about the wig industry, is premiering at SXSW. The series is written and produced by three professionals in the wig industry: Alexandra Daigneault, Shannon O’Leary and Nathalie Poulin.

The idea for Wiggersventurebeat stemmed from the founders’ own frustrations with the wig industry. “We wanted to make something that was entertaining and informative but also accessible,” explains Alexandra Daigneault. “We wanted to create something we could all relate to.”

The team spent months shooting footage of everything related to wigs, from hair products to styling tutorials. They also interviewed some of the most famous wigmakers in the world (like Lola Vep).

But what makes Wiggersventurebeat truly unique is its comedic tone. “I think it is important for us to have a sense of humor when talking about things like hair,” says Shannon O’Leary. “Otherwise, it can get pretty dry.”

The team is confident that their audience will love Wiggersventurebeat. “We know there’s a lot of misinformation out there about wigs, and we want to be part of the solution,” says Alexandra Daigneault.
